2014 This Is Not Gonna End Well

A machinery of fictional and real bodies

Premiered Januar 18th 2014
Uferstudios Berlin

This isn’t gonna end well is a performance in which Alexandre Achour creates a machinery of fictional and real bodies. Who are the main actors here? Performers, spectators, curators, fellow artists, producers, technicians… How are we all involved in setting the stage not only of this performance, but also of our profession? Who has blood on his hands? One has to make it in this market. Or not. With whom do we shake or hold hands? Practically there is no solidarity. So if one is not a shark does one have to become a shark?

Freeze! Nobody move, or else!
In this else Alexandre Achour creates moments where the text meets the choreography and the fiction of the story meets the reality of the performance. Achour invites us to take a closer look at what we do in the theatre, as well as why and how do we do it today. Who is to blame is not the only question to ask and no one is innocent isn’t good enough as an answer if we want to find out what really happened and who is a perpetrator. What is staged might be a crime, a tragedy or just a lifestyle, and the auditorium the place of the accomplice, witness or juror. One thing is for sure this isn’t gonna end well if we continue this way.
